Biona organic vert lentils (Puy-type) are healthy and nutritious, versatile and convenient to use. Pulses are an excellent source of protein and fibre, contain little or no fat and are cholesterol free. Biona canned pulses are the perfect ingredient for many savoury dishes, salads and soups.
The term ‘Le Puy green lentil’ is protected throughout the Europe under Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and in France as an appellation d”origine contrôlée (AOC). The term may only be used to designate lentils that come from the prefecture of Le Puy (most notably in the commune of Le Puy-en-Velay) in the Auvergne region of France.
