A soothing, calming and grounding oil. It has a woody, earthy, spicy and sweet aroma with smoky leathery, masculine undertones. Vetivert essential oil is 50% Sesquiterpenes and around 20% Sesquiterpenols which means it has powerful relaxing properties, and is often used for emotional and spiritual care.
It is beautiful when combined with lavender to help with sleep, or citrus oils to help relax and calm during a fraught day. It helps us cope with stress, anger, fear and anxiety.
As vetivert is so grounding it can be used in combination with frankincense, and for chakra work is has a synergy with the root chakra.
In skincare, vertivert is useful for oily, acne prone skin.
