Our Betaine HCL, in easy-to-swallow vegan capsules, activates in the stomach to help replenish stomach acid and promote more efficient digestion of protein as well as carbohydrate breakdown and fat absorption. Optimal levels of stomach acid are also necessary for the proper absorption of minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron. Stomach acid also forms a vital part of your immune defence against microbes, yeasts, viruses and other harmful invaders. Low stomach acid can even cause symptoms commonly mistaken for over-production of stomach acid, such as acid reflux and heartburn, especially in older people.
